Just thought I'd throw my hat in the ring here.

I've been getting the same error when trying to update the package list and went through most of this thread looking for a solution. Turned out my proxy settings were correct (the standard proxy2, port 8080) and the only thing I needed to do was increase the TCP/IP Timeout to 120 seconds. Obviously my connection is too slow <_<

Hopefully the errors others are getting are just as simple to solve!

Network Connection Error; Error 63 occurred at TCP Open Connection

I had given up on this last year and would just carry my laptop home when I wanted to update any packages.
However, after hearing VIPM 2011 improved the network connection problems I decided to try again.

1) I do not use a proxy server
2) I can access "http://download.ni.com/evaluation/labview/lvtn/" with my browser
3) The error log shows Error 63

Before I try to work this issue through our IT dept., is anything else I should/can try first?

Thanks in advance for any feedback/suggestions.

James Jones

PS. I have a group of 5 users to assist with the same issue.
