What's New in VIPM 1.1 Beta 1

VIPM 1.1 introduces new features and performance improvements to both the Community Edition and the new Professional Edition.

Note:
  • In order to continue to use VIPM 1.1 Professional after the public beta period ends, you will need to purchase a license (details to come).
  • VIPM 1.1 Community Edition will be continue to be free after the public beta period ends.
Community Edition
  • Significant performance improvements
    • Launching VIPM is now over 2x faster than VIPM 1.0
    • Switching LabVIEW versions is now over 4x faster than VIPM 1.0
    • Column sort and quick text filter are now over 5x faster than VIPM 1.0
  • Several usability improvements such as:
    • Copy the displayed package list to the clipboard
    • Column sorting in the Package Action Confirmation dialog listbox
    • Multi-selection toggling in the Package Action Confirmation dialog listbox
    • Support for double- and right-clicking on package files in MS Windows File Explorer to easily add packages to the library
    • When adding packages to the library, you are prompted to also install the packages
    • Ability to remove custom (off-line) packages from the package list
    • VIPM Window size and position are saved and restored between sessions
    • Package list column widths are saved and restored between sessions
  • Better support for non-networked computers and those without LabVIEW installed
    • You can now download packages from the Package>>Download menu even if you don't have LabVIEW installed on your computer.
Professional Edition - In addition to all the features available in VIPM Community Edition, VIPM Professional offers the following additional features:
  • Save, recall and apply package installation configurations
  • Scan LabVIEW projects to find out which packages they are using
  • Even better support for non-networked computers by including packages in package configuration files
