As of VIPM 1.1 Public Beta 1 Windows Vista is not officially supported. However, it does install with one minor hiccup during the installation process...

• The first time you try to install VIPM on Vista you will receive an error message (Error 740, as shown in the screenshot below).
  
  
• Simply acknowledge the error by pressing the OK button to close the dialog.
  
• The next time you run the VIPM installer, Vista will present you with a dialog asking you to enter your admin password.
  
• After you enter your password, VIPM should install and run just fine.

Notes:

• If Vista never presents a password dialog and you keep getting error 740, then right-click on the installer EXE and choose "Run As Administrator".
  
• If you try to install packages by double-clicking on them, you should run VIPM first, and then double-click on the package. Otherwise, you may encounter file permission errors, due to VIPM running as non-administrator.
