There is a known issue when installing certain packages on LabVIEW 8.2 and 8.5 where VIPM appears to hang during the installation process after the user closes the license agreement dialog. Specifically, this can occur when installing the picture3d (LabVIEW 3D Picture Control Evaluation Software) and oglib_lvzip (OpenG Zip Tools) packages on LabVIEW 8.2 and 8.5.

The problem appears to be caused by interactions between the Getting Started window and license agreement dialogs of these two packages. When VIPM hangs, you can abort the installation by pressing the abort button on VIPM's toolbar. You can then try to install the packages again, after

To avoid this problem (1) make sure that LabVIEW is already running and (2) open a new, untitled VI, by selecting File>>New VI from the LabVIEW menu before you attempt to install packages with picture3d or oglib_lvzip packages with VIPM. This will ensure that the Getting Started window is not open during the installation process.
