Miko
Of course I uninstalled the Commander before I installed VIPM. (LV7.1) And VIPM did not find some of the packages that were still active (like the restart-thing, MGI-intaller...). Will VIPM just replace the old ones if I try to install newer versions? I get an errormessage (VIPM could not install....) whenever I try to install ogrsc_dynamicpalette-0.15-1, ogpatch_librarian_bugfix-1.0-1, ogpatch_notifier_bugfix-1.0-1, nirsc_html_help_common-1.0-1, ogrsc_restart. In the case of ogrsc_dynamicpalette-0.15-1, I can watch that the unpacking of mnu-files and such going on, but the process breaks at "readonly.txt" What is the best way to correct all this? Uninstall VIPM and install Commander and then install VIPM?
Jim Kring
Miko, I'm sorry that you're having installation issues. First, VIPM is capable of detecting and upgrading Commander installations -- you did not need to uninstall Commander. Second, when you uninstalled commander, did you first uninstall all of the packages (from within Commander)? If you do uninstall Commander, it is recommended that you first uninstall all packages from within Commander. > Will VIPM just replace the old ones if I try to install newer versions? Generally speaking, yes it will. But, it depends on the settings of the individual package. Please submit a direct support request via the Contact JKI page and we will help you fix these issues. Thank you, -Jim Kring
