Please go here to download a version of VIPM that does not crash on startup: VIPM 2013 Build 1899 (Windows) Hello guys, I'm getting exactly the same error (Same Access Violation and same EIP) ) as JMOS (http://forums.jki.ne...-2012-crashing/) and several other people get. On my previous post I didn't really get a reply, so I just copied it in a new thread. I have tried updating drivers, changing the ini-file, turning of firewalls and any other thing in any combination mentioned above. In the end (after multiple days of trying all the stuff you mention over here) I gave up and did a clean reinstall of all NI software (including deleting all registry keys) and did not make any difference. By now I have already done multiple clean reinstalls (hence the "days" I mention) I have an Alienware laptop with an i7-3840QM CPU @ 2.8 GHz. Is it known that this CPU causes these issues? Being an NI employee I haven't yet experienced any of these issues on other laptops or desktops. This really blocks my ability to install several toolkits on this "high-end" laptop. Based on the explanation it is unclear to me what is exactly going wrong here. Are there any new releases planned that will fix this issue? If not, what can I do to fix this? Thanks in advance! BillyAlexander Posted August 19, 2013 Report Share Posted August 19, 2013 Hey guys I'm following up my post in the 2012 forum and will round out the issue here, I started with the 2012 version which also Crashes when booting. It was suggested to me to try 2013, prior to trying 2013 I removed my copy of 2012 VIPM and Labview 32 and 64bit version. I then reinstalled Labview 2012 32 and 64bit. At that point I installed VIPM 2013, it still promplty crashes. I've also re-installed microsoft framework 4.0, I've tried installing the 7GB or so of NI- Drivers as suggested elswhere that also didn't fix anything. I've posted the crash summary as well as a limited visual studio's dump from the crashes here: Billy's 2012 -2013 Crash Issues. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium on a Alienware m18x with the 2960xm Intel quadcore setup. i've seen several posts related to the alienware architecture i'm wondering if its related to that? either way If a JKI representative would like to test my setup I'm offering Teamviewer or similar access to my computer with a waiver of damage, death, or dismemberment if they wish to explorer the issue. There is a folder below the settings.ini file called "cache". Deleting all the files in this folder solved my problem.
