Automating the installation of VI Package Manager packages

Recommended Posts

In our Company we have about 10 LabVIEW installations an  I've used the NI Batch Installer Builder to create a customised LabVIEW installer with VIPM included.

I want to install with ervery LabVIEW & VIPM installation the same packages e.g. OpenG Tool's so that not every one have to install it manualy

Is it possible to automating the installation of VI Package Manager packages without the VIPM Pro Version?

If not, is the VIPM Pro Version on needed on every cpmputer?

I too would be interested in a way to make this work in an automated way.  But until then one thing that might help make less steps, is making a VIPC with all the packages you want contained in it.  Then on the new machine, after installing all things NI, you can double click that VIPC file, it will open it in VIPM, and ask what version to install them in, and then it installs all the packages at once.  It still is a manual process but you don't have to select packages from a list, or be connected to the internet.
