TonP Posted August 17, 2008 Report Share Posted August 17, 2008 Since it's quite hard for JKI to support non-Windows platforms a 'remote' option might be nice. In such a mode you can say at 'x.x.x.' (an IP-address) on port xyz a LabVIEW installation is listening. VIPM could connect to the LabVIEW server, ask for it's version number. The difficulty is to find a path that's accessible on both sides of the connection for copying files. But with additional configuration that should be doable. In addition to access to the file system of the remote machine, we need the ability to launch LabVIEW -- this would be very difficult on a remote machine.
