NeilR
Hi Jim and the team, Firstly, congratulations on what looks like a great VI utility. I've successfully installed v1.1.1 and was fine. However, when trying to install v2.0.2 it gets to the "Please wait" dialog with the progress bar, runs through to the end of this and then ... well nothing. The installation just stops. No more activity at all. Any ideas ? Best regards Neil
Jim Kring
Neil, > Firstly, congratulations on what looks like a great VI utility. Thanks! Regarding your issue: That's strange. Does your Windows user account have admin rights? (Make sure you do.) Are you running anti-virus or anti-spyware software? (Try turning this off.) I'll check with the rest of the VIPM developer team to see if they have any other ideas. Thanks, -Jim
Philippe Guerit
Neil, Could you tell us more about your system? What OS are you running? Do you have an antivirus, a firewall? How old is the computer? How much memory does it have? Additionally, what happen after the progress bar run through the end? Did you wait some more? Also, do you have enough space left on your hard drive where your temporary folder is located? If you could post a screenshot, this might be useful as well. Thanks again for the feedback. Philippe Hi Thanks for the prompt reply, apologies for the delayed response ... To answer your questions ... XP Pro SP2 McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.0 and behind a corporate firewall Compaq Evo from about 2001 512mB Yes I continued to wait but no further activity 6GB left on the HD Since this event I've had the PC blue-screen several times and it appears to be extremely slow, so the signs aren't good. I've run a virus scan recently without anything untoward. I may need to get the boys from IT to have a look. Attached is a JPG of the install dialog before it disappears ... Regards Neil Hi Neil, I'm sorry to hear about the blue screens -- that's no fun Did you try turning off your McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.0 software? I suspect that this is the culprit. Philippe Guerit
Neil, I believe we have identified the issue and a possible fix will be available in the next bug fix release of VIPM. Thanks for your patience. Philippe
